Talent is a natural ability you are born with to excel at a duty or action. Natural endowment and ability to achieve a goal without a permanent obstacle or difficulty. Talent is different from skill. Skill is a learned power of doing something competently, a developed aptitude or ability. Though, you need to involve skill for your talent to be exceptional. But because it is endowed In you, learning the required skills will be a fun.

The following will be helpful in discovering your talent:

First of all, if you think you do not have a talent, list all that you do, all you think you could do and all you think are difficult for you to do. Sort the list, best in a tabular form. I bet you, it will be clear and reveal to you that you could do a lot more than you expected.

Don’t be afraid to try something new. Don’t be afraid of failure, you must not stop what you are doing because it does not work out at the very first time. You should continue pushing till you get there as long as you know where you are going and have the mindset that you can do it, rebuke fear, be possessed with the spirit of ‘’I can do it and I will do it.’’

Note whatever you do that people wish they could do, but to you, it’s like a fun. You should know that others see it before you, they will ask you how you did it. When you discover that people do come to you and ask you to show or put them through on a particular thing, it is indeed a talent hidden in you. Listen to people that know you. You may not be that aware of the things you do best but people who know you do. Whatever gives you the most personal satisfaction is more than likely your hidden talent.

Another interesting way to discover your talent is to think of what you love to do but haven’t tried. There are some things you see others do that you know you can do better. This is a no brainer. Begin to exercise, grow and increase this skill, there is a reason you can do this better than others, but it does not mean you can’t get any better at it. Some times you can discover your talent from what somebody else’s has invented, you can introduce new innovation which the inventor himself did not even have the idea. What I am trying to say here is that, you will discover your talent through something or somebody.

Always make sure that you stop wasting time on what you know you are not good at. As this will only consume your time and effort without any improvement or gain.

Do not let money-making be your first priority discovering your talent, if you do, you will not be able to discover your talent fully anytime you don’t make much money in it. Rather, happiness should be what you love to derive most in it. Once you find something you love to do, do more of it. You will improve your skills and refine your technique this way. You will also discover the depths of your talent, whether it was more a passing phase. Even if the interest turns out to be temporary, you may notice what interested you about a particular

Another way to explore hidden talents is to try completely new “scary” things for yourself. Skydive, sing at a Karaoke, visit a church you know nothing about, volunteer for a crisis centre, join a club, study something completely foreign to you. Break out of your comfort zone and you might be surprised what gets waked up in you.

You should always have some minute’s quiet time for at least 2 to 3 times a week. This is the time set aside to contemplate a project. So sit, be quiet and just wonder, you will find wild, wacky and creative ideas that you can later develop or reject but which might just give you a whole new way to look at your world.

Bradley Will, says ‘’In order to find your sweet spot, or your unique gift, think of those things that come easy to you. To you it’s no big deal, but to others, it’s incredible. What are those things that others come to you for that for you, it’s as easy as breathing and you’d do it for fun whether you were paid or not? When your operating out of your sweet spot, your true talent will shine!’’

Do not copyright your mentor step by step if you want to make a different and bring out the talent in you for the world to see. Do not try to be somebody, be yourself and show it to the world that you can do it better than it has ever been done.

Good luck.
